Description
This is a chest tomb located about 8 metres south-east of the Church of St Uvelus, dating from the mid-18th century. It is a low chest made of dressed stone, which is concealed by turf. The tomb features a slate lid that has a grooved border. At the center of the lid, there is a winged angel head, which is flanked by an hourglass and a skull with crossed bones. The inscription is in upper and lower case with serifs, commemorating Nancy, who died in 1768, the daughter of William and Jane Gobeldick, and includes a verse below.
