Description
Lewidden Bridge is a road bridge over a stream, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed from slate rubble and features a small two-span design, with each span having a narrow corbelled pointed arch. There is a wide pier between the spans that includes a cutwater on its upstream side. The parapets of the bridge appear to have been rebuilt, probably in the 19th century, and are topped with pitched slate capping. Additionally, the bridge seems to have been widened on the upstream east side during the 19th century, where the apex of each arch has a large slate and the cutwater is made of a pointed granite block.
