Description
The terrace balustrade and ornaments located about 20 metres north of Mount Edgcumbe House were constructed in the early to mid-19th century. This feature includes a cast iron screen with a lattice pattern that extends approximately 40 metres in an east-west direction, with plain rendered dies positioned between each pair of panels. At the centre, the screen steps back and is flanked by four piers; two of these are topped with urns, while the two central piers have stone acorn finials. The terminal piers on either side also feature urns, and the main front piers are designed with wrought iron baskets intended for urns.
