Description

The barns located approximately 15 meters west of Trelean Farmhouse are granaries over shippons, a waggon shed, and stables, dating from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and feature grouted scantle slate roofs. The buildings have a half-hipped roof over the taller principal barn, while the other barns have gable ends. The layout is L-shaped, with two barns joined at their front corners, facing into the angle, along with a single-storey range that likely includes two pig sties and a stable adjoining the right-hand end of the right barn. There is also a later lean-to cartshed attached to the left end of the other barn.

The exterior is two-storeys high, with the north and east fronts facing a farmyard. The taller left barn has a slightly irregular two-window front on the north side, featuring a wide segmental-arched waggon doorway to the right of the middle, small doorways at both ends, a first-floor loading doorway to the left of the middle, and windows towards the left and right. The lean-to at the far left has a wide ground-floor doorway and a hatch opening to the roof space. The east front has a symmetrical two-window barn front with a central doorway on the left, and the single-storey range on the right has doorways only at the front. The original shuttered two-light windows are present in all first-floor openings, with hopper windows in the ground-floor openings and old ledged doors. The interior has not been inspected.
