Description

A pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century are situated directly north of Trebartha Farm. Built of stone rubble with a slate roof and gable ends, they feature central stone axial stacks. The cottages were originally planned as single-room dwellings with entrances on both sides. They share a central axial stack. In the mid-19th century, a two-storey outshut was added to the rear. The front of the cottages presents a four-window facade that is not quite symmetrical. The left-hand cottage has a 19th-century six-panel door, protected by a slate porch with a hipped end. A 20th-century window occupies the right side of the front, while two 19th-century two-light casement windows are positioned above. The right-hand cottage features a 19th-century door on the far right and a 19th-century two-light casement window to the left. Above, there are two similar casement windows. The two-storey lean-to outshut at the rear has 20th-century windows on the ground floor and 19th-century casements above. The interior of the cottages has not been inspected. These cottages have group value by virtue of their contribution to the character of the surrounding area.
