Description
This building, located approximately 2 meters southwest of Gilly Farmhouse, is an outbuilding that may have served as a granary over a stable. It likely dates from the late 18th century and features cob walls with a half hipped corrugated iron roof, which was originally thatched. The structure has a nearly square, single-cell plan with an entrance and a window on the north side only. It is two storeys high, with a roughly north-facing front that includes a doorway on the left and a window on the right. The doorway consists of an old stable-type ledged door divided into two parts, while the window features an old reused fixed light casement in a reduced opening. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be structurally complete. The building's irregular orientation in relation to Gilly Farmhouse suggests it may be older, indicating that there could have been an earlier house on the site of the current farmhouse. Despite its simplicity, the arrangement of this building, the farmhouse, and the garden walls is significant, as they complement each other.
