Description

SW 83 NW MYLOR MYLOR CHURCHTOWN

4/244 The Ganges Restaurant, (formerly 30.5.67 listed as Dockyard Buildings)

GV II

Dockyard building, now restaurant. Probably C18, and remodelled in the C19 and C20. Painted shale rubble with granite sills and lintels and brick arches. Dry Delabole slate roof with gable ends. Rendered lateral stack to rear, left. Long ranges rectangular-on-plan, of 12 bays. 2 storeys. North 12-window front. First floor rendered and left-hand window opening, probably deepened, in the C20, now with pair of glazed doors. Ground floor, right, retains 7 round-headed brick arches with granite keys, originally open but now most have C20 bay windows, and on left is large polygonal C20 glazed projection. First floor windows 2, 3 and 4 from left, probably original, are 2-light casements with 15 panes per light. Taller windows to right are 12-pane horned sashes. Interior not inspected. Fairly altered since Listing Survey in 1960 but still remaining some original features.
