Description

The Harbour Quay is a quay built around the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed from vertically set drystone shale rubble, featuring short sections of granite ashlar at regular intervals. The landward part has iron-stapled dressed granite copings, while the later part has slightly battered granite ashlar. The quay has an L-shaped plan with a rounded end to the west. There is a later spray deflecting wall on the east side and a 20th-century harbour building to the northwest.
