Description

These are a pair of gate piers located about 80 metres northwest of Pentillie Castle, likely dating from the 18th century. They are made of granite and have a square plan, standing approximately 2 metres high. Each pier features a cornice and a large ball finial that sits on a shaped stem. At the base of the right pier, there is a stone inscribed with the initials NLEL and the date 1628. The piers mark the entrance to a tree-lined avenue.
