Description
A pair of early 19th-century town houses located on West Street in Liskeard. The buildings are characterised by slatehanging on a timber studwork frame, topped with a half-hipped roof of rag slate tiles. Four brick end stacks are present, one of which is rendered, and a cast-iron ogee gutter is affixed to the right-hand building (No. 17). The buildings are arranged as a double-depth plan, presenting a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The original windows are hornless sash windows with glazing bars on the left-hand side, with later replacement sash windows with horns elsewhere. A pair of doorways are centrally located, featuring pilasters and a moulded entablature. A 20th-century top-glazed door is at the entrance to No. 19, and a 20th-century six-panel top-glazed door serves No. 17. The interior of the buildings has not been inspected.
