Description

This pair of attached estate houses dates from the mid-19th century and has undergone few later alterations. They are constructed from slatestone rubble and feature a slate roof that is hipped on the left side and has a gable end on the right. The building includes a gable end stack on the right, an axial stack, and an end stack on the left, all with rubble shafts.

The house on the left has a two-room plan with a central entrance. The room on the left is heated by the end stack, while the room on the right is heated by the axial stack. The house on the right has a one-room plan, heated by the end stack on the right, and includes a rear service room.

The exterior is two storeys high and presents an asymmetrical three-window range. The first floor features three 2-light casements. The ground floor has a continuous hood over a 3-light casement, a plain door, and another 3-light casement for each house. Attached to the left is a single-storey rubble lean-to with a 2-light casement. The right side has an external stack with an oven at the base, and there is a single casement at both the ground and first floor in the rear service room. The interior is not accessible.
