Description

The lodge at the road entrance to the Enys estate is likely from the early to mid-19th century and was remodeled in the late 19th century. It features coursed elvan walls and a hipped roof covered with red fishscale tiles. There is a brick chimney on the axial wall of the front part, which has blind round-arched arcades on the sides and a moulded cornice. The gutters are made of cast iron and have an ogee section.

The lodge has a T-shaped plan with two rooms at the front flanking an entrance hall that is set back within an open porch. There is a service wing at right angles to the middle of the rear, which was formerly an open verandah. The building is a single storey with a symmetrical south front that has a one-to-one bay arrangement. The central bay is set back and features an open gable with an arch-braced hammer-beam truss, turned pendants, and a shaped barge board. There is an old small gable-ended box porch, and the entrance has 19th-century four-panel doors with a cusped traceried fanlight above. The windows are 19th-century two-light wooden designs. Iron railings are present in front of the lodge.
