Description

The site features a tombchest and two headstones located 1 metre south of the west tower of Egloshayle Church. The tombchest and headstones date from 1766, 1804, and 1819. One headstone commemorates Jane Peers, who died in 1766, and Rev. Henry Peers, vicar of the Parish of Egloshayle, who died in 1793. This headstone is a large rectangular piece made of slate. The second headstone is for Samuel King, a gentleman who died in 1804, also a large slate rectangular headstone inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs. The tombchest, dated 1819, is in memory of William Norway, a merchant who died in 1819, and his wife Mary, who died in 1855. It is made of slate and features a moulded base and lid, along with moulded corners.
