Description

This is a kiln chimney from a china clay works, dating from the late 19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble and brick and has a circular plan that tapers upwards. The lower stage of the chimney is made of granite rubble and features cast iron banding, while the upper stage is built of brick and has a plain cornice made of three stepped courses of bricks. There was formerly a rectangular building at the base of the chimney.
