Description

This is a kiln chimney from a china clay works, built in the late 19th century. It features a circular plan and is constructed from granite ashlar and brick. The chimney is tapered and has a moulded collar at the top of the lower stage. Above this, it continues in brick, culminating in a cornice and a blocking course at the top. There are also remains of a large rectangular plan building adjacent to the chimney.
