Description

The Mill House is a house, likely originally two cottages, dating from around the mid-18th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with large dressed quoins and features a rag slate roof with gable ends, where the roof on the left side is higher. The house is built along a slope, with the ground sloping down to the right. The lower right-hand cottage may have been built first and has a one-room plan with an entrance at the front towards the higher end on the left, heated by an end stack on the right. A second one-room plan cottage was possibly added shortly after, located on the higher left-hand gable end, with an entrance to the right and heated by an end stack on the left.

The exterior has two storeys and an asymmetrical front elevation, featuring an entrance through a late 18th-century stone rubble lean-to porch near the centre on the lower right side of the left-hand cottage. There is also a lean-to outshot on the lower side of the porch. The rear elevation is asymmetrical with five windows, showing clear straight joints between the two ranges. On the left side, there is a 20th-century window with a small window to the right, along with a two-light casement and two one-light casements on the first floor. To the right, there is a 20th-century window on the ground floor and a two-light casement on the first floor. The interior is not accessible.
