Description

The headstones of Richard Perrey and of Edward and Silvester Perrey are located 8-9 meters southeast of the south aisle of the Church of St Ildierna. These two slate headstones date from 1771 to 1783. The first headstone commemorates Edward, who died in 1771, and Silvester, who died in 1773. It features a segmental head with an angel's head in relief and is inscribed in lower case lettering with serifs. The inscription reads: "Reader behold our Class of Life is run And with it all our pain and sorrows gone Our only hope is with our God to be In Heaven above to all Eternity." The second headstone honors Richard and Zebedee, sons of Richard and Elizabeth Perrey. This headstone has chamfered corners and also features an inscription in lower case lettering with serifs.
