Description
Trevarder Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century, is a building that has functioned as a farmhouse and cottage. It is constructed from rubble stone with granite lintels to the ground floor window openings on the east side. The roof is slate, with a gabled end on the right and a hipped section on the left, along with gabled wings to the rear. A large projecting stack is located on the rear south-west wing. The farmhouse has an L-shaped plan, with an additional wing added to the rear on the north-west, creating a U-shaped layout.
The east front is asymmetrical, featuring a two-window arrangement. A blocked opening is on the left, with a granite lintel. There is a 20-pane sash window without horns, a partly glazed door to the right of centre, and a 16-pane sash in a partly blocked opening with brick dressings on the right. Above, two 2-light casements are on the right, and a 20th-century 2-light casement with top-hung openings is on the left. A rendering is visible between the ground and first-floor window openings. The south front includes a single-storey store on the left and a rendered single-storey lean-to porch with a door.
The site was recorded in 1309 as being near Tucking Mill, and is a former barton site.
