Description

Trethake Farmhouse is a farmhouse that possibly dates back to the early 18th century and was extensively remodeled around the 1840s. It is constructed from rubble stone and features rubbed brick arches over the openings on the front. The roof is slate with gabled ends, and there are two brick stacks on the left-hand gable end with projecting breasts, as well as a brick stack on the right-hand gable end.

Originally, the farmhouse consisted of two rooms with a cross passage, which has since been extended with a kitchen range added to the rear under a raised roof. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. On the ground floor, there are two 16-pane sash windows without horns flanking a panelled door that has glazed top panels and is slightly set back. Above, there are two more 16-pane sashes with a 12-pane timber sash in the centre, all without horns and featuring crown glass. The roof, dating from the early 19th century, is pegged.

The site is historically significant as it is associated with the Domesday manor "Trethac" Barton, as recorded in the Domesday Book for Cornwall in 1086.
