Description

There are three chest tombs located in the churchyard about 2 metres southeast of the south aisle of the Church of St Michael. These tombs date from the 18th and 19th centuries and are made of granite and slate.

The first unidentified chest tomb is a rectangular granite structure featuring pilasters and a flat top with a moulded edge. The second unidentified chest tomb is also rectangular, made of granite ashlar, standing on a moulded plinth with pilasters, and has a flat top with a moulded edge. This tomb is heavily overgrown with ivy.

The third tomb belongs to a member of the Trevanion family and is dated 1758. It is a rectangular granite chest on a plinth with pilasters, topped with a slate lid that has an incised border and a carved inscription.
