Description

The building consists of an office, stables, and waggon sheds, located immediately east of Kennal Vale Mill. It dates from the mid to late 19th century and is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings. The office features an original scantle slate roof with projecting eaves and verges, shaped and pierced barge boards, original crested clay ridge tiles, and a brick chimney on the rear gable end. The waggon sheds and stables have corrugated iron roofs with rubble gable ends.

The layout is an irregular single depth range: on the left is a cartshed with integral stables or loose boxes; in the middle is a cranked open-fronted waggon shed; and set back on the right is a single-cell heated office. The building is single storey. The stable block on the left has original sliding planked doors and windows with shutters, featuring both bottom and top lights. The waggon shed has a central stone pier between two otherwise open fronts. The office has a doorway on the left with an original 8-panel door that has fielded panels and an overlight with the word "OFFICE" in gilt letters. In the middle of the right-hand end wall is the original 12-pane hornless sash window, with the lower half boarded over. The interior has not been inspected.
