Description

The Ellis headstone, located approximately 4 metres southwest of the porch of the Church of St Erth, is an early 19th-century memorial. It commemorates Thomas Ellis, who died in 1808 at the age of 23, and Elizabeth Ellis, who died in 1820 at the age of 37. This headstone is a square-headed granite monolith featuring an incised slate inset on the east side. The Ellis family was known for operating the Hayle Brewery.
