Description
This milestone is located on the southern side of the B3293, set into a gap in the forecourt wall of 32 West End in Redruth. It is made of dressed and painted granite. The base is square with pyramidal stops leading to a triangular shaft topped with a pyramidal cap. The shaft features recessed rectangular panels; the west panel is inscribed with "TRURO / 9" and the east panel reads "CAMBORNE / 3 / PENZANCE / 17". The recessed panels are a result of modifications made by the turnpike trust, and this milestone is one of two that have been altered in this way. The square base is painted black, while the triangular shaft is painted white, with the inscribed letters highlighted in black.
