Description
No. 3 Chapel Street is a house, now used as an office, dating from the early 19th century. The building has been altered, with additions made to the left side and rear. It is constructed of coursed squared granite with quoins, while the sides and rear are made of uncoursed rubble. The roof is covered with slurried slate. The house has a double-depth three-unit plan and is two storeys high with three symmetrical bays. It features a first-floor band and a central doorway with a recessed wooden doorcase, which is a replacement. There are 16-pane hornless sashed windows on both floors, projecting eaves, and a hipped roof with chimneys on the side walls. The additions to the left side and rear are not of special interest. The interior has also been altered.
