Description
Lemon House, also known as The Deanery, is a detached town house built in 1815 for Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkins. The building features a local freestone ashlar front and slate hanging on the first floor of the service wing to the left. It has a dry Delabole slate hipped roof and brick end stacks. The house has a double-depth plan with a service wing that is set back on the left and at the rear. It stands two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window range. The central doorway includes a six-panel door and an overlight with glazing bars, all within an open distyle wooden Tuscan porch topped with a squat entablature. The windows have flat arches with projecting key blocks above the original sashes that also feature glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. The house is complemented by wrought-iron balustrades on either side of the stone steps.
