Description
Nos. 11 and 13 West Street are a pair of small town houses built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from local rubble with granite dressings and feature segmental brick arches. The houses have a dry slate roof with brick end stacks and are designed as a double-depth plan mirror-image pair. They stand two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The windows are 20th-century twelve-pane horned sashes, and there is a blind central window with the appearance of a 16-pane window painted on. Above the central pair of doorways, there is an original timber lintel; the door on the left (No. 11) is a six-panel door, while the door on the right (No. 13) is top-glazed and panelled. The interior has not been inspected. This pair is part of a well-preserved row of 19th-century buildings and is included for its group value.
