Description
This is a town house, likely dating from the late 17th century, with substantial remodelling and extensions in the 18th century. The front is rendered on a rubble base, topped with a steep dry slate roof. The roof features projecting front eaves and a rendered stack on the left side, with a stone stack at the rear. The house has a deep plan, incorporating a rear wing. It is two storeys high, with a two-window front. The windows are 20th-century horned sashes with glazing bars, including an oriel window on the first floor to the left. An opening remains on the right. The rear wing is three storeys high, with a significant jetty to the upper floors. An original 18th-century window with thick glazing bars on the ground floor has been replaced with 20th-century sashes. Inside, there is an 18th-century dog-leg open-string staircase with turned balusters and a ramped handrail. Parts of the original roof structure are still visible. An inspection around 1980 revealed some original 17th-century moulded plasterwork in the front attic.
