Description

No. 19 West Street is an early to mid-19th century town house with a shop. It is one of a group of good 19th century buildings in the street. The front is rendered over a timber frame, with an asbestos slate roof and projecting front eaves. A rendered stack is located on the right-hand side. The building follows a double-depth plan, incorporating two rooms at the front. It is two storeys high, with a two-window front. The first floor has mid-19th century four-pane hornless sash windows within moulded wooden architraves. The ground floor features a mid-19th century twenty-four-pane double shop front with incised pilasters. A pair of three-panel doors with an overlight are centrally positioned, alongside a six-panel house door on the left. A full-width fascia with a moulded cornice completes the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
