Description

Nos 1 and 2 Market Street are early 19th-century buildings constructed of stucco with a slurried slate roof. The street facade is plain and features two storeys with a total of five windows, which include sashes with glazing bars and modern casements. The end facade also has two storeys and three windows, with the centre window on the first floor blocked. This facade includes sashes with glazing bars, a plinth, a string course, and fluted Ionic quoin pilasters. The gable is treated as a pediment and features a circular window set in a moulded architrave in the tympanum. On the ground floor, there is a large square bay window on the right side made up of sashes, along with a central recessed doorway.
