Description
This is a mid-19th century house located in Calstock, with few later alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble, with some areas slate-hung, and features a slurried slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The house has gable end stacks with rubble shafts.
The building has a double depth plan, with a central entrance leading to a kitchen on the right and a parlour on the left, along with shallow service rooms at the rear. The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. The upper level is slate-hung, and all windows are 16-pane sashes. There is a central early 20th-century porch with glazed sides and a flat roof, featuring double half-glazed doors. The left side has a slate-hung upper level with a small single-storey lean-to, while the right side is blind, with an oven projecting at the base of the flue.
At the rear, there is a central first-floor stair light, which is a tall light with margin glazing, flanked by 16-pane sashes on both sides. On the ground floor, there is a central door, a two-light casement with L hinges, and a 20th-century window, all with cambered brick heads. The interior has not been inspected.
