Description

Corner Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble, with the upper level at the front made of cob and partly rendered. The roof is tiled, featuring ridge tiles and gable ends, with gable end stacks that have brick shafts. The layout consists of two rooms: a larger kitchen on the left and a smaller parlour on the right, both heated by gable end stacks. The entrance is located off-centre to the right.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window front. On the first floor, there are three 19th-century two-light three-pane casements with L hinges and cambered arches. The ground floor features an off-centre doorway to the right with a 19th-century four-panelled door. To the right of the door is a 20th-century two-light three-pane casement, and to the left is a 20th-century three-light three-pane casement, both with cambered arches. The upper level is rendered over the cob. The left end of the building is blind and made of rubble, with an oven projection at the base of the stack. The right end includes a small single-storey addition with a plank door at the front and a corrugated asbestos roof. At the rear, there is a 20th-century lean-to addition on the left and a smaller 20th-century lean-to on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
