Description
The milestone at Higher Roscraddoc is a late 19th-century guide post made of local stone. It has a roughly rectangular shape with a flat domed head, standing approximately 1 meter high and 0.50 meters wide. One side features a deeply incised inscription in capital letters that are 8 centimeters high, reading "LISKEARD/3".
This milepost was erected around 1880 and is part of a series that marks the route from Liskeard to Launceston. It is shown on the Ordnance Survey map from 1888. The milestone is notable for being well-preserved in its original location and has good group value with other listed guide posts along the same route. It serves as a reflection of the early development of historic road use.
