Description
The Holy Well and stile, located 140 metres south of Inner Fentondale, is a holy well that was named in 1613. The existing structure is likely from the 19th century and is made of granite. At the time of inspection in 1986, the well was considerably overgrown, but it appears to be situated at a spring and features a stone trough along with several pieces of roughly moulded granite built into the hedge. Adjacent to the well is a stile, also from the 19th century, which consists of three pieces of roughly cut granite forming a structure in the hedge near the spring.
