Description

The cross located approximately 60 metres north of the Church of St Erth is a Grade II listed structure. It is a reused pre-Conquest cross set on a 19th-century tomb dedicated to Gilbart. The cross is made of granite and features a wheel-headed monolith with a short shaft, which is positioned on a large stepped pyramidal base made of dressed granite. The square base has an outer kerb with a chamfered edge, which was originally topped with iron railings. The cross head displays a roll-moulded border, with a depiction of the crucifixion on the front (west) side and a Latin cross with a short shaft on the opposite face.
