Description
The terrace walls, piers, and steps located about 4 metres east of Pentillie Castle date from the 19th century. They are constructed from slatestone rubble with granite coping and granite piers. The retaining walls are faced in granite on the garden side and topped with granite coping. There is a central pair of square granite piers, each about one metre high with pyramidal caps. The walls extend approximately 35 metres in length. A central flight of 15 granite steps is flanked by ramped walls and similar terminal piers. At the lower level, there is a similar retaining wall with another flight of granite steps and piers to the left.
