Description

The Thomas monument is a chest tomb located about 9 metres north of the north transept of the Church of St Mewan. It dates from the 18th century and is made of granite rubble and slate. The tomb has a plain rectangular shape and features a slate inscription plate on top. The lettering is well-executed and includes flowers carved at the top of the headstone, along with valedictory verses. The monument commemorates Charles Thomas, who passed away in 1794.
