Description
Rose House is a house built around the mid-19th century. The front is covered in stucco, while the rest of the building is made of rubble. It has a grouted scantle slate hipped roof with brick chimneys on the side walls and cast-iron ogee gutters. The layout features a double-depth plan with two reception rooms at the front, which flank a central entrance hall that leads to a stair hall between the rear service rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front with a central doorway. The building features rusticated stucco quoins. The original door, porch, and windows are still intact; the door is panelled with two round-arched panels, and the porch is a debased Tuscan style with fluted columns and brackets in the entablature, featuring later 19th-century glazing with coloured marginal panes. The windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
