Description

The Old Forge is a building that was likely originally used as a workshop for Wheal Rose Mine, dating from the early 19th century. It features painted rubble walls and a bitumen grouted scantle slate roof, which is sagging. There is a brick chimney on the left-hand gable end, while the chimney on the other gable end has been removed. The building has a rectangular plan and is a single storey with unaltered elevations. The front wall includes a wide central doorway and a window on the left. Inside, the walls are lime-washed, and the original roof structure remains, but there are no surviving fittings.
