Description
The North Treskerby Engine House is a disused pumping beam engine house located at Wheal Rose Mine, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed from killas and granite rubble, featuring granite dressings. The building has brick arches over the principal openings and timber lintels over the other openings, with brick used for the upper stage of the chimney. The structure is roofless.
The engine house has a rectangular plan and includes a round chimney that clasps the rear right-hand corner. It stands three storeys tall with unaltered and virtually complete elevations. The front wall has a central doorway, while the rear gable end features a wide central cylinder doorway and two openings above. The right-hand wall has a central first-floor window and two windows on each of the other floors. The left-hand wall includes square-headed openings, a doorway on the right, and three small openings.
There are no surviving wooden floors, roof structure, or machinery inside the building.
