Description
31 and 32 Carclew Street are a pair of houses in a terrace, built around the 1820s. The ground floor features dressed coursed Killas in part, while the rest is constructed from Killas rubble. The houses have an asbestos slate roof with brick end stacks and a double-depth plan, consisting of two similar houses. Each house includes a reception room at the front and a room behind, with parallel entrance passages in the center. No. 31, on the left, has a service wing extension at the rear. The buildings are two storeys high and have a symmetrical three-window front. There is a blind central window above a pair of round-headed doorways, with an original six-panel door to No. 31 and blind fanlights. Shallow segmental arches with keyblocks are present above the doors. No. 31 features 20th-century sixteen-pane sash windows, while the other house has 20th-century windows. The interiors have not been inspected.
