Gare Farmhouse, Courtyard Wall And Adjoining Building

Gare Farmhouse, along with its courtyard wall and adjoining building, is a small country house dating from around 1865. It is constructed of stucco and features a hipped, low-pitched Delabole slate roof with axial stuccoed brick stacks that have cornices. The building has a symmetrical double depth central stair plan with a service wing at the rear and stands two storeys high. The south-west front has three windows and a central doorway that is framed by a Tuscan porch, heavy entablature, and square columns. There is a continuous stucco plinth and tripartite ground floor windows with wooden sashes that have thin glazing bars. A wide stucco band separates the floors, and the first floor has 12-paned wooden sashes beneath a moulded eaves cornice. Additionally, there is a round-headed stair window at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
