Description

The kitchen garden walls, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, are located about 50 metres north west of Nanswhyden Farmhouse. Constructed of red brick in English bond, the walls stand approximately 4 metres high and feature brick coping along the top. Regularly spaced brick pilasters, which have pyramidal caps at the corners, enhance the structure. The walls enclose a roughly rectangular kitchen garden that includes one cross wall. Notably, the south west wall is extended to about double the length of the main garden, enclosing an area of about a quarter of an acre.
