Description
Woodlands Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century and a few later changes. It is constructed from squared stone rubble and features a hipped scantle slate roof with ridge tiles and brick chimney stacks on the sides.
The farmhouse has a two-room plan, with one room on either side of a central entrance and a rear central staircase. There is a later 19th-century addition to the right, which consists of a one-room plan that is heated from a gable end stack, along with a shed attached at the right end.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. All the windows are 12-pane sashes from the 19th century, set beneath cambered stone arches with keystones. The central entrance features a 20th-century glazed door. The later addition on the right has 12-pane sashes on both the ground and first floors, along with a plank door. The shed at the right end includes a two-light casement window at the front, while the left end of the farmhouse is blind.
At the rear, there is a central round-arched sash window with radial glazing bars that illuminates the staircase, accompanied by a relieving arch. On the ground floor to the right, there is a four-pane sash window with a brick segmental arch above it, and a 20th-century window to the left on the first floor. The rear of the addition features a 20th-century window and a two-light casement window on the side. The interior has not been inspected.
