Description

This headstone, located 2 metres north of the north transept of Egloshayle Church, dates from 1782. It commemorates Mary, the wife of William Street, who died in 1782, and Mary, the second wife of William Sweet, who died in 1785. The headstone is made of slate and has a rectangular shape. It features inscriptions on both sides: one side honors the first wife of William Sweet, while the other side honors the second wife. The inscriptions are presented in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
