Description
Harbour Cottage is a detached cottage from the 18th century, built with exposed rubble stone, primarily made of serpentine, and features a whitewashed left-hand gable end. The cottage has renewed timber lintels above its openings and is topped with a thatched roof, which has brick chimneys at both gable ends. It is 1 and a half storeys tall and has an almost symmetrical appearance with a two-window front.
On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century French window with eight panes on the left and a 12-pane, two-light casement window on the right. The entrance door, located in the center, is partly glazed and also from the 20th century. Above the ground floor windows, there are two 12-pane, two-light casement windows. The left-hand gable end features a 12-pane, two-light casement window on the first floor, while the right-hand gable end has a four-pane top-hung window. At the rear, there is a 20th-century outshut.
The brick chimneys at the gable ends include a stepped stack made of early brick on the right side. Inside, there is a chamfered timber beam over the fireplace on the right, which has quirk and curved tongue stops, and a cloam oven. The roof timbers have not been inspected.
