Description
The former Cadgwith lifeboat house, built around 1867, is now used by the local fishing industry. It features stone rubble walls with granite dressings and quoins, topped by a slate roof. The exterior has a gabled end with a large central opening facing the beach, which is across the road. This opening contains wooden double-doors, some of which have later boarding. Above the doors, there is a square loft opening with granite dressings. On the southwest side, there are two tall rectangular openings dressed with granite, and on the northeast side, there are two similar openings. The left opening includes a barometer and a small fishing painting behind glass. A stream flows beneath the building. The lifeboat station was closed in 1963. This structure is included for its group value.
