Description
The outbuildings with piscina, located 50 meters to the west of Carglonnon Farmhouse, are likely the remains of a chapel, dating from the late 14th to early 15th century. The original north wall features a piscina, which may have been reset, but evidence suggests it was probably in its original position. The thick stone rubble wall serves as the side wall of a garage to the south, which has a 20th-century lean-to extension with a corrugated plastic roof. There is also a further outbuilding attached on the north side, although its lean-to roof has been removed. The piscina, set into the north wall, is of high quality, carved from four pieces of ashlar stone, and features a trefoiled head with a drain hole at the base. Carglonnon is said to have had a chapel, and a letter from the 1950s in The County Records Office in Truro references the piscina. Information provided by the tenant.
