Description

This building is a cottage located 50 meters to the west of Killigorick Farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a rag slate roof, with a gabled end at the higher left side and a hipped end at the lower right side. The front has a stone rubble lateral chimney stack topped with a tall 20th-century brick chimney shaft, and there is a projection for a cloam oven.

The interior has not been inspected, so the layout is uncertain. It may either be a two-room plan house with a larger right-hand room, likely the kitchen or hall heated by the front lateral stack with an oven, or a three-room plan house where the lower end has been demolished. In this case, the central room would probably be the hall with a front lateral stack and oven, while the higher room on the right has been partially rebuilt.

The cottage is two stories high and has an asymmetrical front with a single window. To the left of the front lateral chimney stack is a four-panelled 19th-century door. The wall to the right of the chimney stack slightly protrudes. There is a late 19th-century two-light casement window with a timber lintel to the right of the chimney stack, and another late 19th-century two-light casement window on the first floor at the lower end on the right. The rear elevation has been remodeled and features three windows, with an entrance in a lean-to projection on the left. There are two 20th-century windows without glazing bars to the right and three more 20th-century windows without glazing bars above the ground floor openings. The cottage is adjacent to an early 19th-century farm building with a lean-to outshut that connects to the lower end of the cottage.
