Description

Two attached houses, built in the 18th century and remodelled around 1880. The front is rendered with stucco, and the roof is covered in Delabole slate with crested ridge tiles and cast-iron gutters with decorative brackets. The houses have a double-depth plan; number 16 has one room at the front and number 18 has two. The two-storey facade has an overall four-window arrangement, featuring late 19th-century four-pane sash windows, with canted bays and moulded cornices to the ground floor. Number 18 has a three-window front and a central doorway framed by flat pilasters and a full Doric entablature, with a panelled door and overlight above. Number 16 has a pilastered doorway with consoles and a moulded cornice linking to the window cornice, and a four-panel door with a low overlight. The interior has not been inspected but may contain noteworthy features.
