Description
No. 17 Dean Street is a town house that has been converted into an office. It dates from the early to mid-19th century. The exterior features slate hanging on masonry over a granite plinth at the ground floor, while the first floor is constructed with studwork; the rest of the building is made of rubble. The roof is hipped and covered with rag slate, featuring projecting eaves and cast-iron ogee gutters. The building has a double-depth plan and consists of two storeys above a blocked basement on the right side, with a symmetrical three-window front. The windows are late 19th century or 20th century horned sashes, with the upper sashes on the first floor including glazing bars. The central doorway is in the Tuscan style, flanked by flat pilasters and topped with a moulded entablature, and features panelled reveals and a door. The interior has not been inspected.
